Engineering encompassed design of all topsides electrical installation of Centrilift
downhole pump system for five (5) platforms. The
ESP project was a sub-marine
cable powered system distributed at 35
KV from turbine driven generation at the
central complex and routed throughout the
EK-Balam field. Each individual
platform, five (5) in total, required extensive new construction to provide redundant
isolation and filtering for the variable frequency drive controlled ESP pumps. The
variable frequency drives operated at 480
VAC with phase shift capabilities and the
downhole pump operated at 5
KV.
MEITEC’s scope included procurement of all topsides equipment and export to
Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, México.
Construction required ex-patriate MEITEC supervision and personnel, local
personnel and sub-contract personnel to retro fit the five (5) platforms from
previously solar powered to sub-marine cable powered systems.
